Attendees of GeoManitoba 2025 will be treated to exciting social events where they can meet, mingle, and get to know their professional colleagues in a relaxed setting, outside of the technical and business streams.

 

Numerous social events are planned and will be included in the conference registration packages; these events can also be purchased separately for guests.

Young Professionals Event

Sunday, September 21, 2025
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Kick off GeoManitoba 2025 with the Young Professionals Icebreaker, a fun and informal evening open to all attendees. Sponsored by WSP and the Canadian Geotechnical Journal, this low-key social will feature a friendly photo-trivia game and plenty of opportunities to mingle and make connections before the conference officially begins. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned professional, come join us for a lively start to the week!

Icebreaker and Exhibitor Reception

5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Come and meet up with old acquaintances or introduce yourself to new colleagues from across the country and internationally, as we join together for a "drinks and nibbles" reception in the Trade Show Hall.

CGS Awards Banquet

This is our time to celebrate the meritorious and professional service achievements of our CGS colleagues. In keeping with tradition, the GeoManitoba 2025 LOC and CGS are planning an up-scale evening with fine dining and entertainment!

Geopardy! Student Competition

Afternoon Coffee Break

GEOpardy!, the friendly student competition will be back this year at GeoManitoba 2025 for another great edition. Based on the popular quiz show, questions will challenge your geotechnical engineering skills. Students registered for the conference, don’t miss your chance to participate. Registrations will open later this year – watch for the announcement!

Local Colour Night

The GeoManitoba 2025 LOC looks forward to hosting conference attendees at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights – the first museum solely dedicated to the evolution, celebration, and future of human rights – for an evening of casual socializing, dinner, and drinks.
