Join us for a technical tour of Arctic Foundations Product Yard. This tour will depart by bus from the Delta Hotel at 9:00 am and will return by 2:00 pm. The production yard is about an hour drive west of the hotel. Tour participants are required to bring their own steel-toed boots and warm clothing is recommended as most of the tour will be outside. Hard hats, safety vests, and safety glasses will be provided. Arctic Foundations of Canada manufactures permafrost foundation systems incorporating thermosyphons under the trade names Thermo Piles and Thermo Probes. These systems have been utilized since the 1960’s in over 900 installations in Canada and Alaska for permafrost stabilization or containment of hazardous waste. Further information is available at: Home 1 | Arctic Foundations. This tour will include a site visit of full-scale thermosyphon installations at the Arctic Foundations of Canada production yard. Flat loop thermosyphons systems, vertical/slope probes, thermopiles and hybrid/active thermosyphon systems will be set-up for to participants to view. The tour will include detailed explanations of the installation process and applicability of the different thermosyphons.
